🍃 Aban bin Uthman says that he heard Uthman bin Affan (رضی اللہ عنہ) say:I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: Whoever recites the following supplication three times in the evening, no sudden calamity will befall him until morning:
Bismillāhi alladhī lā yaḍurru ma‘a ismihi shay’un fil-arḍi wa lā fis-samā’i, wa huwa as-Samī‘ul-‘Alīm
In the Name of Allah, with Whose Name nothing in the earth or in the heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing
*And whoever recites this supplication three times in the morning, no sudden calamity will befall him until evening.”
•The narrator further states that Aban bin Uthman was later afflicted with paralysis. The person who had heard this hadith from him looked at him with surprise (wondering how this could happen despite the supplication). Aban said:
What is the matter? Why are you looking at me like that? By Allah, I did not lie about Uthman (رضی اللہ عنہ), nor did Uthman (رضی اللہ عنہ) lie about the Prophet (ﷺ). However, on the day I suffered this paralysis, I was angry and forgot to recite these words.
